Superintendent Joe McManus, SMMC Director of Facilities Bruce Murphy, along with Harmon Construction’s Carpenters completed the first phase of a minor renovation project for Shawnee Mission Medical Center last week. The medical center was looking for a solution to the issue of medical equipment obstructing corridors and hallways. Removing these obstructions will help traffic flow, especially in maneuvering patient beds, through the building and help prevent any incidences these obstructions could possibly cause.
Harmon was called upon to create alcoves (8 total) that would hold the WOW (workstation on wheels) medical equipment. Creating these alcoves was basically a shifting of space from rooms to the outside corridor, patching up carpet and wall coverings, adding dedicated outlets and upper cabinets for storage.
Our carpenters are busy working on the second phase of the project. Two more phases to go with two more weeks to complete! Thank you Shawnee Mission Medical Center, we appreciate the business!
