After breaking ground on April 1st, we haven’t stopped moving! This 2,000 sq/ft renovation and 10,000 sq/ft addition project is well underway.
Hand in hand, Building Committee Chair Mike Milius, SFS Architecture’s Kelly Stindt and Waylon Arndt, our Project Manager Todd Ramsey and Superintendent TJ Watreas have been working on the renovation portion of this project since the groundbreaking. The renovation will include remodeling the existing bathrooms and entry area. The team will then transform previously designated sanctuary space into additional classrooms after the new building addition is complete. The ground up 10,000 sq/ft addition has also started construction and will consist of new worship and classroom space.
From the ground up: The greatest challenge so-far has been the need for new sewer lines. The existing church building was previously on its own septic system which means for the remodel and addition, all new public / private sewer lines were needed. This process can be time consuming, but definitely worth the effort in the long run.
Our team is shooting for a February (first quarter of 2013) completion. Thank you St. Stephen Lutheran Church Family!
