Principal, Todd Ramsey, has served on the Board of Directors for the Olathe Public Schools Foundation (OPSF) for 6 years. Todd takes pride and interest in OPSF; he is active in the Olathe community and has both of his children in the Olathe public school system.
OPSF was founded in 1997 and is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that provides grants, scholarships and recognitions to teachers and students in the Olathe School District. It creates opportunities for students, parents, alumni, and businesses to come together in support of the continued excellence of Olathe schools.
With a mission statement of “connecting financial and volunteer resources to the Olathe District Schools to recognize and enhance educational excellence,” the Foundation has been able to provide over $4 million in support to school staff and students. It works to build supportive relationships between schools and the business community through various events and programs.
For the past 3 years, Todd has served as the Chairman for OPSF’s annual golf tournament. The 20th anniversary of the tournament took place last month; at the event, the Foundation raised a record $106,500! This surpassed the previous year’s total by over $15,000. More than 240 golfers participated in the event.
Proceeds from the annual golf tournament are invested directly into Olathe classrooms and helps fulfill the needs of teachers and students throughout our district. “I continue to be amazed and humbled for the continued and amazing support and generosity of local businesses and volunteers at this event. It just gets bigger and bigger year year,” stated Todd. “Each teacher and student in the district will continue to benefit each day from the money raised from this tournament.”
