Harmon team members recently played in the KCAHE (Kansas City Area Healthcare Engineers) annual golf tournament on August 12 at St. Andrews Golf Course in Overland Park. All proceeds from this year’s golf tournament will be donated to the Dean Smith Memorial Fund at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
KCAHE is the metro chapter of ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering). Per KCAHE’s website, membership represents hospitals and their environments of care staff in the Kansas City metro area and includes members from Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. They strongly support the efforts of ASHE and both the Kansas and Missouri Hospital Associations. KCAHE has established an educational program that includes technical topics as well as business management skills. Their vision is to be the region’s premier organization for professionals specializing in healthcare facilities management.
KCAHE has also formed alliances with vendors who regularly provide services and products to healthcare providers; this is in an effort to improve the professionalism of individuals and firms supporting hospitals and patient care facilities. Monthly meetings through KCAHE encourage hospital members and vendors to learn from each other, improving the safety, well-being, best business practices and quality of care for the people our healthcare facilities serve.
Harmon has been a proud member of KCAHE for several years. We enjoy attending their meetings as they are educational and healthcare specific, which helps us in the healthcare industry, one of our top 3 industries for construction.
KCAHE’s annual conference and trade show is coming up on October 6 at the Ritz Charles in Overland Park. This conference allows vendor members to exhibit their goods and services. KCAHE also provides speakers who discuss relevant topics; and it’s good networking with other fellow KCAHE members. Harmon will again have a booth at this conference, so please stop by and visit us.
