Kirk Porteous

Managing Partner for Drive Technology Management, Kirk enjoys serving as Chairman of the Harmon Advisory Board of Directors for several reasons. Kirk is good friends with Tim Harmon and enjoys helping Tim succeed in this business. Kirk enjoys using his expertise, skills and perspective he’s gained in his career and applying it to another industry / situation. He says he also enjoys the relationships and interactions with other board members and the Harmon team.

Kirk has over 12 years experience as a telecom executive, 23 years of total telecom industry experience and over 2 years as a small business owner. Overall, he brings 25 years of business management, marketing, strategic planning and client service background to Drive and to his role as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors for Harmon.

Prior to joining Drive Technology Management, Kirk served as Vice President, Client Services in a boutique business operations and strategy consulting firm, was the Director of Product Development for three years at EMBARQ Corporation and served in various executive and management roles for Sprint Corporation including a role as Interim Vice President, Corporate Strategy. Kirk began his career at United Telephone Company of Indiana in 1987 as part of a management training program.

Kirk received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in Radio and Television, and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Kirk serves on the Board of Directors for Whitefield Academy, a Classical Christian School in Kansas City, MO including serving as Chairman in 2011-12. Kirk, his wife of 26 years Karen and four children are members of Shawnee Bible Church where Kirk has served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Sunday School teacher for both Junior High and adults.
